About the Role
You will join the engineering team that builds builder microsites, admissions platforms, WhatsApp Business automations, and the operations dashboards that let a fifteen-person team manage forty retainers. Stack: Astro and Next.js for marketing, Payload CMS for content, MongoDB for data, AWS Mumbai region for hosting, Cloudinary for media. Performance budget is sub-1.5s LCP on a real Jio 4G connection.
This is not a marketing-agency-developer role. We build production software at meaningful scale (the Capital Athena admissions platform handled a 12x deadline-day spike with no degradation; the qualification-team operations dashboard runs in real-time across forty retainers). The codebase quality bar is high. CI enforces the performance budget.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain client-facing web properties (microsites, admissions platforms, lead-capture pages)
- Own the performance-budget enforcement in CI — every merged PR must pass real-device LCP / FID / CLS thresholds
- Contribute to internal tooling (operations dashboards, CRM-routing middleware, the qualification-call team's daily workflow tools)
- Mentor 1-2 junior engineers on code review, architecture, and the performance discipline
Requirements
- 4+ years of production React experience, with at least 1 year on Next.js or Astro
- TypeScript fluency. We are not a JavaScript-loose codebase
- Direct experience with performance budgets and Core Web Vitals on real low-end Android devices, not Lighthouse simulators
- Familiarity with at least one of: Payload CMS, Sanity, Strapi, headless WordPress
- Comfortable with AWS / Vercel deployment and infrastructure
